Like most people, you probably spend a crazy amount of time in front of your computer screen at work. At times, taking a break to look at something green is not only beneficial for your eyes, but it also does wonders for your productivity. We have the tendency to connect with nature because it makes us feel good as we spend time in a natural environment, which positively affects our physical and mental well-being.
So, how about getting your hands dirty and connecting with nature? We have allocated a green spot near our workplace, IOI City Tower 2, to encourage our employees to grow fruits and vegetables in our IOI Urban Garden, which was launched in March 2023 by Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng, in collaboration with IOI Corporation Berhad and IOI Properties Group Berhad.
It shares the same vision with our prior Plant Your Own Food Initiative which was introduced to our plantation workers in 2019, but IOI Urban Garden is for our employees at the IOI headquarters. To date, our employees have taken up 18 of the 20 available plots. Whether you have green fingers or just want to spend time with nature, you can swing by during lunchtime or unwind after a long day at work to grow various fruits and vegetables. Each gardening plot is self-maintained.
