Partnership with Dual Blessing Bhd: Fostering Inclusivity and Empowerment
- IOI Foundation actively collaborates with Dual Blessing Bhd (Shuang Fu) to enhance the well-being and independence of persons with disabilities (PWDs). This partnership focuses on two key areas: ensuring PWDs can celebrate culturally significant events with their families and empowering them through skill development.
- A significant aspect of this collaboration is supporting Dual Blessing Berhad's annual "Coming Home" initiative, which facilitates home travel for PWDs during Chinese New Year celebrations. Recognising the mobility and financial challenges many PWDs face, IOI Foundation has made substantial contributions, including monetary donations to cover transportation expenses, operational costs, and allowances. These funds enable hundreds of PWDs from the Klang Valley to reunite with their families, fostering a crucial sense of belonging and reducing isolation, particularly significant after periods of physical distancing.
- Beyond facilitating holiday travel, IOI Foundation also supports Dual Blessing Bhd's efforts in skills empowerment. This includes celebrating achievements such as the graduation of PWDs from a six-month computer training course. The Executive Director of IOI Foundation personally attends these events to show support and congratulate graduates, reinforcing the message that disabilities do not limit potential and boosting their confidence and self-esteem through inclusivity and encouragement.
