IOI Foundation Brings Joy and Pickleball to Underprivileged Youth
- IOI Foundation, in collaboration with Palm Garden Golf Club (PGGC), orchestrated a heartwarming Deepavali celebration that merged festive cheer with the thrill of pickleball for 24 children from Pusat Jagaan Beribuan Kasih and Kebajikan Yesuvin Mahligai Selangor. Under the expert tutelage of Coach Hussin Ali, President of the Putrajaya Pickleball Association, these young participants quickly mastered the sport, showcasing their newfound skills on PGGC's scenic courts. This event marked their first group activity in three years, making the day even more significant. The IOI Foundation and PGGC teams were present to cheer on the children, culminating in a personal presentation of RM5,000 to each home by IOI Foundation Executive Director Datin Joanne Wong.
- IOI Foundation's Involvement: We partnered with Palm Garden Golf Club to provide the venue and support, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for the children. The Foundation's Executive Director, Datin Joanne Wong, personally attended the event and presented donations of RM5,000 to each of the participating homes.
- Impact: The initiative successfully brought people together, fostering a sense of community and shared joy. For the children, mastering a new sport like pickleball and participating in a group activity after a long hiatus significantly boosted their confidence. The event created cherished, joyful moments that will undoubtedly linger, leaving a lasting positive impact on the young participants.
