Supporting Communities Swiftly in Dire Times
The Covid-19 pandemic presented unprecedented challenges to communities worldwide. Recognising the urgent needs arising from this crisis, IOI Foundation stepped forward to provide crucial support to vulnerable populations and frontline healthcare workers. This initiative encompassed the provision of essential food and medical aid to families facing hardship battling the pandemic.

Providing Food Aid to Vulnerable Communities
- Recognising the economic hardships and movement restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic, we initiated a program to provide essential food supplies to vulnerable communities. This initiative aimed to alleviate food insecurity and ensure that basic needs were met for those most affected.
- IOI Foundation's Involvement: Since January 2021, we have contributed food parcels. These parcels were filled with daily necessities and were distributed through local organizations to reach orphanages and impoverished households in Tanjung Piai, Johor, and Kuala Nerus in Terengganu.
- Impact: By partnering with local organisations, the aid was effectively channeled to those who needed it most, fostering a sense of support and solidarity, responding to immediate community needs. For the recipients, these food parcels provided essential sustenance and reduced the burden of worrying about basic necessities during a challenging time. This would have contributed to their overall well-being and reduced stress.
