Bargain Basement's Volunteer Collaboration with Deloitte

On 22^nd June 2026, Bargain Basement was delighted to welcome 126 interns from Deloitte for a CSR engagement session. This visit provided them with firsthand insight into the day-to-day operations of a charity retail store, allowing them to discover what happens behind the scenes, from the moment donations are received to when they reach our shelves for sale.

This was followed by a second session at Deloitte on 25^th June 2026, where we organised a collaborative challenge. During hands-on activity, the interns sorted through donations collected from Deloitte’s own internal donation drive for Bargain Basement. They then applied their learnings by sharing improvement ideas to enhance our operations.

Adding to the spirit of the day, Datin Joanne Wong, founder of Bargain Basement, joined the session and actively engaged with the interns. She exchanged ideas and shared observations, while several thoughtful ideas from the interns stood out for their creativity, practicality, and relevance to our operations.

We were inspired by the enthusiasm, teamwork, and fresh perspectives demonstrated throughout the day.
