Heeding The Plight For Help

The holiday season is a time of celebration and happiness. For many seniors, however, it can be difficult to stay positive and happy during this time. To help them combat the isolation and lack of activity that might occur during the holidays, Yayasan Tan Sri Lee Shin Cheng (Yayasan TSLSC) Executive Director Datin Joanne Wong visited Xiao Xin Serdang Old Folks Home (Xiao Xin Home), located in Serdang, Selangor, and together with her team of volunteers, they presented a fruit basket and cleaned both internal and external parts of the home.
 

Once the tasks were completed, Datin Joanne Wong spent quality time with the founder and caretaker, Mr Woon, to further understand the situation of each elderly. The elderly tucked into their KFC lunch boxes and shared their appreciation to the volunteers for their act of kindness. Xiao Xin Home, established in 2019, provides shelter to 14 elderly (11 males and three females) who are either suffering from serious illnesses or have difficult mobility issues.
